Description
"Emblemantha urnulata “Riau Fishbone Pink” is a rare tropical foliage plant from Sumatra, Indonesia. It is often circulated in the plant trade under names such as Labisia sp. Riau, Ardisia sp. Sumatra, or Emblemantha urnulata. In nature, Emblemantha urnulata is known from wet tropical forests, with botanical/trade references noting deep shade and streamside habitat. The name “Fishbone Pink” refers to its striking leaf pattern: a fishbone-like dark green marking framed by pink-toned leaf tissue. This form has oval to lance-shaped leaves with a clean, compact shape. The center of the leaf shows deep forest-green markings arranged like a fishbone or ladder along the midrib, while the surrounding leaf tissue can show a soft pink to magenta tone. The pattern looks very crisp and graphic, almost like it was printed on the leaf. Color can vary depending on light, maturity, and growing conditions. Under stronger bright indirect light, the pink tone may become more visible, while in lower light the leaves may appear greener or less intense. Light: Bright indirect (no direct sun). Water: Keep slightly moist; water when the top layer is nearly dry. Humidity: 70–90% Temp: 20–28°C Mix: Airy + moisture-holding (peat/coco + perlite + small bark)."
