Description
"Labisia sp. Sarawak Dark Form is a rare tropical foliage plant associated with Sarawak, Borneo. Since it is still labeled as “sp.”, the exact species is not fully confirmed, so it is best treated as a locality/trade form. The genus Labisia is native from Indo-China to New Guinea, including Borneo, and belongs to the Primulaceae family. This plant has compact, deep green to near-black leaves with a matte to velvety finish. The leaves are thick, firm, and strongly corrugated, giving them a bold, muscular texture. Compared to brighter Labisia forms, this one feels darker, moodier, and more understated, with a hint of purple-brown tone on new growth and leaf edges. Light: Bright indirect light; avoid harsh direct sun. Water: Keep slightly moist; water when the top layer is nearly dry. Avoid drying out completely. Humidity: 70–90% Temp: 20–28°C Mix: Use an airy but moisture-holding mix, such as coco/peat or sphagnum + perlite/pumice + small bark. Good drainage is important. Extra Note: Keep it warm and stable. Labisia loves humid conditions but does not like soggy soil or sudden temperature drops."
