Description

Labisia sp. Sanggau is a rare tropical foliage plant associated with Sanggau, West Kalimantan, Borneo, Indonesia. Since it is still labeled as “sp.”, the exact species is not fully confirmed, so it is best treated as a locality/trade form. The genus Labisia is native from Indo-China to New Guinea and belongs to the Primulaceae family. This plant has long, narrow green leaves with a striking silver edge along the sides. The bright center vein and clean leaf shape give it a sleek, sharp look, almost like a tropical “light saber.” Its growth is elegant and upright, making it a perfect choice for collectors who like bold foliage without a messy shape. Light: Bright indirect light; avoid harsh direct sun. Water: Keep slightly moist; water when the top layer is nearly dry. Avoid drying out completely. Humidity: 70–90% Temp: 20–28°C Mix: Airy + moisture-holding mix, such as coco/peat + perlite + small bark. Extra Note: The silver edge looks best in stable humidity and soft light. Avoid direct sun, as it may stress the leaves or reduce the clean silver contrast.
